As the sun dipped over the shores of Stone Town, Zanzibar’s coastline transformed into a lively arena for beach soccer—bringing together community, culture, and celebration. Held during the Zanzibar Tourism Show, the friendly match featured the Zanzibar Tourism Team alongside tourism stakeholders, playing shoulder to shoulder with local beach soccer enthusiasts. Hon. Mudrick Soraga, Minister of Tourism and Heritage, attended as Guest of Honour—and as a player himself.

The event aimed to spotlight sports tourism as a growing pillar in Zanzibar’s development. “Sport unites people, promotes health, and enhances our tourism offering,” said Hon. Soraga. His participation highlighted the government’s commitment to integrating sport with cultural and tourism initiatives.
